Genny Zero Basic White or Grey – self-balancing balance wheelchair for active mobility
The Genny Zero Basic in White or Grey is the functional entry into the current Genny Zero model family. It provides the complete self-balancing Genny Zero vehicle technology in a deliberately reduced basic specification.
This makes the Basic particularly suitable for users who primarily want the core Genny Zero technology and do not require additional comfort equipment such as Öhlins suspension.
Unlike a conventional four-wheel electric wheelchair with full joystick control, Genny Zero travels on two parallel wheels and electronically maintains its balance while riding.
Acceleration and deceleration are controlled by shifting the rider's body and centre of gravity. Direction is controlled through the steering system, creating an active operating concept with direct rider involvement.
Genny Zero was developed as an independent self-balancing mobility platform and is not based on a Segway PT.
What is included in the PT Pro Genny Zero Basic?
The Genny Zero Basic has a clearly defined specification at PT Pro. This makes it transparent which equipment belongs to the Basic vehicle shown.
The PT Pro Basic configuration includes:
- White or Grey bodywork
- low side handles
- standard seat cushion
- no Öhlins suspension
Important: The PT Pro Basic specification differs in this respect from configuration options that may, for example, be available directly from the manufacturer in Switzerland. PT Pro does not offer a choice between high and low side handles within the Basic configuration. The PT Pro Basic is supplied with low side handles.
Customers requiring high side handles, a different seating solution, Öhlins suspension or other equipment that differs from this specification can of course request an individually configured Genny Zero. In this case, however, the vehicle differs from the defined PT Pro Basic configuration and is treated as an individual configuration.
Basic does not mean less self-balancing technology
The term “Basic” refers to the equipment specification and not to the fundamental self-balancing vehicle technology.
The Genny Zero Basic uses the current self-balancing Genny Zero platform. The electronic system continuously monitors and corrects vehicle balance, enabling mobility on two parallel wheels.
Users who do not require Öhlins suspension or additional premium comfort equipment therefore retain the fundamental Genny Zero driving concept.
How is Genny Zero controlled?
-
Centre of gravity forward: accelerate
-
Centre of gravity backwards: decelerate and brake
-
Steering system: controls direction
This makes the rider an active part of the vehicle control concept.
Safe use requires the functional abilities necessary to operate this active control system. A diagnosis or disability alone therefore does not determine whether Genny Zero is suitable for an individual rider.
PT Pro recommends personal consultation, a test ride and individual assessment before purchase.
0 mm turning radius – exceptional manoeuvrability
A major advantage of the self-balancing two-wheel platform is its exceptional manoeuvrability. Genny Zero can rotate on the spot and has a specified turning radius of 0 mm.
This is particularly useful in indoor environments, lifts, shops, restaurants and other areas where manoeuvring space is limited.
Only approximately 62.5 cm overall width
The standard Genny Zero configuration has an overall width of approximately 625 mm or 62.5 cm.
This keeps the vehicle exceptionally compact despite its self-balancing two-wheel technology and is particularly useful for doors, lifts, indoor environments and tighter passages.
The actual clear width of doors and passages should nevertheless always be checked.
Indoor, urban and paved use – with additional versatility
The compact Genny Zero is particularly suitable for everyday mobility indoors, in urban environments and on paved paths.
It is not restricted to perfectly smooth surfaces. The standard configuration provides approximately 102 mm minimum ground clearance and can also be used on suitable uneven surfaces within its intended operating limits.
Surface conditions, obstacles, gradients, lateral slopes, weather and the individual abilities of the rider must always be considered.
Users who regularly travel over substantially more demanding terrain should also compare the Genny Zero XR with PT Pro. The XR provides larger wheels, increased ground clearance and a wider track, but requires significantly more space because of its greater overall width.
Standard seat cushion and no Öhlins suspension
The PT Pro Basic is deliberately configured as a functional entry specification. It is equipped with a standard seat cushion and no Öhlins suspension.
This clearly distinguishes the Basic from higher-specification or individually configured Genny Zero vehicles.
Users who require increased suspension or seating comfort should discuss this during consultation so that PT Pro can assess the appropriate individual configuration.
Low side handles are part of the PT Pro Basic
The Genny Zero Basic is supplied by PT Pro with low side handles.
There is no choice between high and low side handles within the PT Pro Basic specification.
High side handles can be considered as part of an individual vehicle configuration where appropriate and technically intended. Such a vehicle, however, differs from the defined PT Pro Basic specification.
This clear distinction avoids confusion between international manufacturer configuration options and the Basic specification offered by PT Pro in Germany.
White or Grey – the PT Pro Basic colours
The Genny Zero Basic is offered by PT Pro in White or Grey. The required colour is selected when ordering.
Other colours are not part of the defined PT Pro Basic configuration. Custom paint or wrapping requests can be assessed on request for technical feasibility and additional cost.
Current Genny Zero software 10.2.21
The current Genny Zero software generation 10.2.21 has been available since 23 September 2026 and introduces important developments in driving behaviour, operation, parking, diagnostics and service.
New and revised functions include:
-
PARK OFF with revised parking and shutdown logic
-
DEEP SLEEP as an additional energy-saving function
- revised driving stability and steering response
- starting, DRIVE, motor start and SERVOGUIDA operation on inclines up to approximately 8° instead of approximately 4°
- redesigned console interface and operating structure
-
Quick Controls for important settings
- GPS-based time
- automatic and manual display brightness
- new charging indicator
- revised error, warning and protection logic
- support QR code displaying the error number and vehicle serial number
The new software generation therefore improves not only various driving and operating functions but also diagnostics, maintenance and technical support.
Service interval now 1,000 km
Software version 10.2.21 also changes the Genny Zero service logic.
The regular service interval is 1,000 km. The SERVICE display indicates when maintenance is required without an acoustic warning.
Vehicle performance is reduced only from 1,500 km since the previous service if the required maintenance has not been completed.
Older information referring to a 750 km service interval or performance reduction from 1,000 km no longer reflects the current status of vehicles running software version 10.2.21.

GENNY ZERO MD – medical device for personal mobility
GENNY ZERO MD is designed as a self-balancing electric medical mobility device.
Medical-device status does not mean that the vehicle is automatically suitable for every rider. Physical requirements, functional abilities, safe controllability and intended use must always be assessed individually.
PT Pro therefore recommends a personal test ride, assessment and instruction before long-term use.
Is the Genny Zero Basic the right configuration for me?
The Basic can be particularly relevant when the complete self-balancing Genny Zero technology is required but additional comfort equipment such as Öhlins suspension is not necessary.
The decisive factors are not diagnosis or age alone, but the rider's actual functional abilities and intended use.
PT Pro therefore assesses whether the defined Basic specification is sufficient or whether an individually configured vehicle would be more appropriate.
Individual configuration instead of incorrect package classification
The PT Pro Basic specification is deliberately and clearly defined.
Once the vehicle differs from this specification – for example through high side handles, Öhlins suspension, a different seating solution or other individual components – PT Pro configures the vehicle according to the rider's requirements.
This makes it transparent what constitutes a PT Pro Genny Zero Basic and what is already an individually configured Genny Zero.
Why is Genny Zero Basic available by enquiry?
A self-balancing balance wheelchair should not be selected solely from a product image and an online shopping cart.
Body height, body weight, functional abilities, trunk stability, intended use and required equipment are important factors when determining an appropriate vehicle configuration.
Genny Zero Basic is therefore intentionally not available for direct online checkout from PT Pro. Following your enquiry, we assess the appropriate configuration with you and prepare an individual quotation.
