Vehicles and innovative mobility from PT Pro

PT Pro specialises in vehicles that differ technically or functionally from conventional mobility solutions. These include Segway PT, self-balancing wheelchairs, modern electric wheelchairs and selected electric vehicles.

The individual vehicle concepts differ significantly. The important question is therefore not which vehicle offers the longest list of features, but which concept is actually suitable for the user and intended application.

Segway PT new vehicles

The Segway PT Personal Transporter is a self-balancing electric vehicle with two parallel wheels. Acceleration and braking are controlled through body movement, while direction is controlled through the LeanSteer system.

PT Pro continues to offer selected new Segway PT vehicles. Availability is limited following the end of production and depends on current stock.

Used Segway PT vehicles

As the Segway PT is no longer manufactured, the used Segway PT market has become increasingly important.

PT Pro therefore provides a dedicated section for used Segway PT i2 and x2 vehicles from the Gen2 and SE generations. Condition, mileage, equipment and technical history can vary significantly between individual vehicles.

When purchasing a used Segway PT, the condition and availability of batteries, gearboxes, InfoKeys and other replacement parts should also be considered alongside the purchase price.

Balance wheelchairs and modern electric wheelchairs

A major focus of PT Pro is balance wheelchairs and innovative electric mobility solutions.

These vehicles use different technical and control concepts and should not simply be treated as equivalent products.

Depending on the vehicle, control may be based on body movement, steering systems, joystick operation or a combination of different control methods.

Active or passive balance wheelchair?

The method of control is an important consideration when choosing a balance wheelchair. An active system may involve the user more directly in controlling the vehicle, while other vehicles rely more heavily on joystick and electronic control.

The appropriate solution should therefore be selected according to physical requirements, trunk stability, transfer, control ability, everyday use, transport requirements and intended environment.

A practical test ride is considerably more informative for these vehicles than comparing technical specifications alone.

Different mobility concepts

Vehicles such as Genny Zero, Omeo and Hoss R1 demonstrate how different balance-wheelchair concepts can be. Other solutions including Genny 2.0, Bi-Go, Freee F2, AddSeat and Freedom One Life provide additional approaches to electric mobility.

Some of these vehicles are based on Segway PT technology, while others use independent vehicle architectures. These differences affect handling, control, maintenance, replacement-parts supply and long-term use.

SWM Binsen electric dirt bikes

Outside the wheelchair and personal mobility sector, PT Pro also offers selected SWM Binsen electric dirt bikes.

These vehicles serve different applications from Segway PT and wheelchairs and are therefore organised in a separate vehicle category.

Which vehicle is right for me?

Technical specifications alone are often insufficient for making a sensible vehicle decision. Personal requirements are particularly important when choosing wheelchairs and self-balancing vehicles.

Relevant criteria can include:

• physical requirements and required support
• active or passive control
• transfer and access
• manoeuvrability and space requirements
• indoor and outdoor use
• terrain and surfaces
• range and speed
• transport in a car
• service and spare-parts availability
• long-term operating costs

For specialised mobility solutions in particular, PT Pro recommends comparing different concepts through practical testing rather than relying exclusively on brochures or technical specifications.
