Battery Cover for Segway PT InfoKey
This battery cover for the Segway PT InfoKey replaces a broken, damaged or poorly closing screw-on cover on the rear of the InfoKey.
A damaged battery cover should be replaced so that the battery compartment can be properly closed again and to reduce unnecessary exposure of this area to moisture and dirt.
Suitable for Segway PT i2 and x2
The battery cover is suitable for the corresponding Segway PT InfoKeys used with:
- Segway PT i2 Gen2
- Segway PT x2 Gen2
- Segway PT i2 SE
- Segway PT x2 SE
It can therefore also be used with compatible Segway PT-based seating systems and balance wheelchairs where the corresponding Segway PT InfoKey is used.
Opening and Closing the Battery Cover
The battery cover screws into the rear of the InfoKey. According to Segway, it can be removed and installed using a coin or suitable flat-head screwdriver.
Behind the cover is the CR2430 coin cell battery used by the InfoKey. When installing the battery, the positive (+) side must face upwards.
PT Pro practical tip: Use a suitable tool when opening and closing the cover and avoid unnecessary force. This helps prevent damage to the battery cover and InfoKey housing.
Defective InfoKey? Repair Is Often Possible
If the problem is not limited to the battery cover, the complete InfoKey does not automatically need to be replaced. PT Pro can inspect Segway PT InfoKeys and, depending on the fault, repair pushbuttons, displays, housings and various electronic faults.
PT Pro can also program suitable replacement and second InfoKeys for the corresponding Segway PT. Suitable proof of ownership is required for programming.
