Segway PT Lights, Rear Lights & Reflectors
Here you will find lights, rear lights and reflectors for Segway PT i2 and x2 models of the Gen2 and SE generations. The range includes front lights, LED rear lights, reflectors, reflective films and suitable mounting solutions for different applications.
Good lighting has two different purposes: helping the rider see the path ahead and making the vehicle more visible to others. Additional lighting can therefore be useful at night, at dusk, during tours or on poorly illuminated routes.
Please note that not every additional light offered is approved for use on public roads. Check the individual product description for its intended application and any information regarding road use.
Lighting for Segway PT i2 and x2
When riding in darkness or poor visibility, two factors are important: the rider must be able to see the path ahead clearly and the vehicle must be clearly visible to others.
PT Pro offers different front lights, rear lights, reflectors and reflective solutions for Segway PT i2 and x2. The appropriate equipment depends on the vehicle, application and legal requirements at the place of use.
Segway PT SE Running Lights – improved visibility
The Segway PT SE features integrated Running Lights at the front and rear of the powerbase. According to Segway, these lights are intended to make the Segway PT and rider more visible to others in low-light conditions.
The Running Lights switch on automatically during operation and remain illuminated until the Segway PT is powered down.
They are primarily intended to improve visibility. Additional suitable front lighting may therefore be required or useful for clearly illuminating the path ahead when riding in darkness.
Front lights for Segway PT
Additional front lights can illuminate the area ahead of the Segway PT and are particularly useful for night riding, poorly illuminated routes and tour operations.
PT Pro offers different solutions ranging from compact front lights to more powerful LED lighting systems.
With particularly powerful additional lights, a distinction must be made between lighting performance and approval for public-road use. The PT Pro high-power LED front light set, for example, is intended for applications such as night and off-road tours and is explicitly identified by PT Pro as not StVZO compliant.
Rear lights for Segway PT
A rear light improves the visibility of the vehicle from behind. PT Pro offers different red rear lights for various Segway PT applications and mounting systems.
The range includes compact LED rear lights as well as rechargeable versions with an integrated battery and USB charging cable.
Selected rear lights are specifically designed for PT Pro license plate holders. Mounting, power supply and compatibility with the existing plate holder should therefore be considered when selecting a light.
Front, rear and side reflectors
Reflectors do not require their own power supply. They reflect incoming light and can therefore improve the passive visibility of the Segway PT.
PT Pro offers different solutions for different areas of the vehicle:
- white reflectors for the front
- red reflectors and reflective films for the rear
- orange side reflectors
- reflective films designed for the LeanSteer
- reflector holders for selected Segway PT versions
Depending on the product, installation is by adhesive mounting, screws or a dedicated holder.
Lights and reflectors perform different functions
An active light and a reflector are technically different. A front light primarily illuminates the area ahead of the vehicle. Rear lights and Running Lights improve active vehicle visibility. Reflectors provide passive visibility when illuminated by an external light source.
Depending on the application, a combination of suitable active lighting and reflectors can therefore be useful.
Lighting for tours and commercial Segway PT use
Visibility is particularly important for Segway tours, events and commercially operated vehicles. If vehicles are regularly used at dusk or in darkness, the lighting should be selected according to the actual operating conditions.
For night and off-road tours, high light output may be more important than on illuminated private or commercial premises. When operating on public roads, however, the legal suitability of the individual lighting equipment must always be checked.
Public-road use – check individual product approval
A light that can technically be fitted to a Segway PT is not automatically approved for use on public roads. High light output or good visibility alone does not establish road-use approval.
PT Pro identifies products with known restrictions directly in the individual product description. When operating in public traffic, the applicable legal requirements and the specific vehicle configuration must also be considered.
PT Pro lighting and accessories for Segway PT
PT Pro offers different lighting and reflector solutions for Segway PT i2 and x2, ranging from simple replacement reflectors to additional front and rear lights.
Product selection should not be based solely on whether a component can physically be mounted to the vehicle. Intended use, mounting, visibility, power supply and, where relevant, approval for public-road use should all be considered.
