PT Pro kickstands – simple folding operation
Conventional PT Pro parking stands operate in a similar way to a bicycle kickstand. The stand is folded down for parking and folded back up before riding.
This simple operating principle is particularly practical for vehicles used by changing riders and in tour operations.
PT Pro offers different versions for Gen2 and SE as well as solutions specifically matched to the i2 and x2.
PT Pro parking stand for Segway PT i2
PT Pro offers a compact front-mounted parking stand for the Segway PT i2. The stand length is matched to the i2 and the appropriate spacer allows it to be used with corresponding Gen2 and SE configurations.
The compact design minimises additional structure beneath the powerbase. This is particularly relevant when an i2 is transported or moved over steps.
PT Pro parking stand for Segway PT x2
A corresponding version is available for the Segway PT x2. Due to its tyres and ground clearance, the x2 has different dimensions from the i2 and should therefore use the appropriate stand version.
Operation follows the same familiar folding kickstand principle.
Height-adjustable parking stands for Gen2 and SE
PT Pro also offers height-adjustable parking stands for different Segway PT configurations. Their adjustable length allows them to be adapted to different i2 and x2 vehicle heights.
The intended application must nevertheless be considered. On a Segway PT i2, a longer front-mounted stand can make it more difficult to pull the vehicle over high steps. Users who frequently move an i2 over stairs or high edges should therefore select a more suitable compact stand solution.
SEG Autostand – automatic parking stand
The SEG Autostand operates differently from a conventional folding kickstand. Its mechanism is linked to movement of the LeanSteer and automatically retracts when the Segway PT is taken into operation.
For parking, the stand mechanism is extended using the designated foot lever. When the Segway PT is subsequently taken up for riding, the mechanism retracts the stand again.
The SEG Autostand is available in dedicated versions for the Segway PT i2 and Segway PT x2.
Which Segway PT parking stand is suitable?
The choice primarily depends on the vehicle and how it is used:
- Segway PT i2: a compact solution matched to the lower vehicle height is useful
- Segway PT x2: use a version designed for the greater ground clearance and x2 tyres
- tour operations and changing riders: simple and intuitive operation is particularly useful
- experienced Segway PT riders: the automatic SEG Autostand can be an interesting alternative
- frequent movement of an i2 over steps: minimise additional structure beneath the powerbase
Compatibility with Gen2 or SE must also be considered. Always check the individual product compatibility before ordering.
Installation on the Segway PT
Installation differs according to the stand system. Conventional PT Pro front kickstands use the designated mounting points in the fascia/powerbase trim area.
Before installation, the Segway PT must be powered off and secured against unintended activation. Only use the mounting components intended for the specific stand system.
After installation, check that the stand folds in and out correctly, supports the parked vehicle reliably and is completely retracted before riding.
