How Does the Segway PT x2 SE Work?
The Segway PT is a self-balancing vehicle with two parallel wheels. The rider stands on the platform between the wheels.
Acceleration and braking are controlled through forward and backward body movement. Direction is controlled through the LeanSteer steering system. The Segway PT can turn on the spot.

The main difference is the intended application.
The Segway PT x2 SE is considerably wider at around 84 cm, uses larger and wider tyres and provides greater ground clearance. This makes it more suitable for varied and unpaved surfaces.
The Segway PT i2 SE is more compact and designed primarily for paved surfaces. At around 63 cm wide, it is easier to manage in doorways, tighter spaces, transport and many commercial applications.
Users operating mainly on paved surfaces do not automatically need the x2. For more terrain-oriented use, however, the x2 SE can offer clear practical advantages.
Why Are New Segway PT x2 SE Vehicles Still Available?
The Segway PT is no longer in production. However, individual new or unused vehicles from remaining stock are still available.

Vehicle Width and Transport
The Segway PT x2 SE is considerably wider than the i2 SE. This should be considered when evaluating doorways, vehicle transport, loading ramps, storage and narrow access routes.

x2 Tyres and Tyre Pressure

Which Tyre for the Segway PT x2?

The Segway PT x2 SE uses two lithium-ion batteries. Because of the wider tyres and higher rolling resistance, the manufacturer-specified range is lower than that of the i2 SE.
Battery condition, age, maintenance, tyre pressure and riding conditions significantly influence actual range.
